STAFF

Tracy Rhodes is a southern Oregon native who's always liked to have her hands in the dirt.  Upon relocating from California's Silicon Valley to Scottsdale, AZ in August 2008, she set aside her 15-year career as an electronics manufacturing buyer and began working at her family's consignment store, A Second Look.  With more time to focus on personal projects, she was determined not to panic at the prospect of growing plants in the desert.  Her first step in 2009 was to become a Certified Desert Landscaper through the Desert Botanical Gardens.  She continues to serve the DBG weekly as a horticultural aide, working alongside her former instructors in caring for the cactus and succulent collections.

From 2010 - 2012, Tracy entered the world of agriculture.  Along with field & produce manager Krista Peterson, Tracy was hired to run the daily membership and growing operations of a 150-member, all-natural CSA farm called Love Grows in Mesa, AZ. Initially focused on operating four commercial greenhouses and two small fields,
over Tracy and Krista's tenure Love Grows expanded to support up to 10+ acres of year-round crop production, and offered 16 Valley-wide CSA pickup locations from North Scottsdale to Ahwatukee.  Technically, she *can* drive a tractor (a small one).

Along with experienced friends and growers such as Krista, Suzanne Vilardi and others, Tracy's primary goal is to help Valley gardeners make their own yards thrive, and to share with fellow desert dwellers the life-affirming experience of creating beautiful gardens and healthy home-grown food.
